An organization that changed The Villages Transportation years in the past has introduced that it’ll cease its direct service between The Villages and the Orlando Worldwide Airport.

On Thursday, Workman Transportation introduced that it’ll not present “Categorical Depot transfers to and from” the Orlando Worldwide Airport. As a substitute, the corporate says that Groome Transportation would be the “sole supplier” of the service.

“All current reservations with Workman will probably be honored by Groome,” reads a press release from the corporate.

Workman Transportation took over the direct routes from Lake Sumter Touchdown and Brownwood to the Orlando Worldwide Airport that have been beforehand operated by The Villages Transportation. The shuttle ran 15 instances per day to and from the airport.

“It’s been an honor to serve the group with our Airport Shuttle for the final ten years and we’re proud to say we are going to proceed to supply Day-Journeys, Multi-Day Journeys, and Non-public Group Constitution Service,” reads the corporate’s assertion.

Workman Transportation inherited routes from The Villages Transportation

For a few years, The Villages Transportation was operated by Debbie Laufersky, a longtime pal of the Morse household whose ties date again to the household’s time in Michigan. In 2014, she opted out of the transportation enterprise.

“We’re pleased to announce efficient August 31, 2023, Groome Transportation would be the sole supplier of Categorical Depot service to The Villages. Persevering with a protracted custom of secure, dependable, and pleasant service to its residents and guests,” reads a press release from Groome Transportation.

Groome Transportation has been serving The Villages since 2019. The group covers 80+ neighborhoods in and round The Villages.
