A Villager has been arrested on a felony hit-and-run cost after a courtroom look.

Robert Vernon Van Houten, 72, of the Village of Amelia, was taken into custody Monday morning on the Sumter County Courthouse in Bushnell. He was booked on the Sumter County Detention Middle and launched after posting $1,000 bond.

Van Houten was driving a maroon 2019 Honda four-door when the accident occurred on July 5 at County Highway 466A and Morse Boulevard. When he was discovered by regulation enforcement, he was initially issued a quotation charging him with leaving the scene of an accident involving harm with out rendering help.

Van Houten made a compulsory look at an an arraignment Monday and was taken into custody.

Data on file in courtroom signifies that the prosecutor’s workplace has determined to raise the cost to prosecution within the felony division.
