The driving force of a pickup was killed early Friday morning after crashing into the undercarriage of a tractor trailer truck.
A 29-year-old Crystal River man was driving the pickup at 4:50 a.m. eastbound on County Highway 476 in southern Sumter County when he approached an intersection and did not yield. He crashed into the tractor trailer truck which was northbound on State Highway 471, in line with an accident report from the Florida Freeway Patrol.
The driving force of the pickup died on the scene of the crash. A 63-year-old Coleman man driving the tractor trailer truck was unhurt.
The investigation into the crash prompted lane blockage and detours for a number of hours.
