
A person has been arrested after allegedly stealing a skeleton and later bragging about it whereas consuming at a celebration.
A house owner, who lives close to Gator Joe’s restaurant in Ockalwaha, in March reported the theft of the skeleton from the tip of her driveway. She advised Marion County sheriff’s deputies she was later contacted by Fb by somebody claiming to have details about the stolen skeleton. The boyfriend of the girl who despatched the Fb message advised deputies that he had been consuming with a gaggle of mates when a person named “Uncle Bo” started bragging about stealing the skeleton. “Uncle Bo” confirmed his fellow drinkers images of the skeleton.
In June, deputies had been investigating a home disturbance involving 46-year-old Michael Bohanon of Ocklawaha. In the course of the investigation, the skeleton was noticed. A deputy investigating the skeleton case was summoned to the scene and confirmed that it was the skeleton that had been reported stolen in March. In an interview, Bohanon supplied conflicting accounts as to how he’d come to be in possession of the skeleton.
Bohanon, who goes by the nickname “Bo,” is going through expenses of theft and dealing in stolen property. He was booked Thursday on the Marion County Jail on $3,000 bond.
