A union consultant for guards on the Coleman Correctional Advanced shall be talking subsequent month to the Property Homeowners Affiliation in The Villages.
Joe Rojas, the president of the union for the guards, shall be talking to the POA membership at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15 at Everglades Recreation Heart.
Jail staffers staged a protest in June at Magnolia Plaza in The Villages, calling consideration to the staffing shortages on the jail, which is the biggest correctional facility within the nation. The union contends that understaffing on the complicated is a menace to its members’ security and the security of the encompassing group.
In an announcement in its August bulletin, the POA stated you will need to hear about issues about security on the jail, which is situated close to The Villages and the brand new Middleton college campus.
“As a neighbor in such shut proximity to Villagers’ houses, the POA feels you will need to know extra concerning the facility and issues workers there have which will have an effect on the security of the residents,” the POA stated.
